the iconic Khalifa International Stadium

The event will take place at Khalifa International Stadium, Qatar’s most historic stadium and the cornerstone of the country’s sporting tradition. The Demo Day celebrates the graduation of the first batch of ten international SportsTech startups that have been accelerated during the three-month program.

QST is committed to break the status quo and build an entrepreneurial ecosystem which will define the World Cup 2022 and form a legacy to be felt years into the future; the reason for which “Building Startups Ecosystems” has been chosen as the overarching program theme.

This first edition is based on the theme of “A Burst of Innovation”; showcased through interactive design, special effects, videos and many other disruptive elements that will be announced at the Demo Day, this celebration marks the beginning of their journey of unleashing a new wave of startup activity like it has never been seen before in the region.

“It takes more than just good ideas to build substantial, enduring value; and every day we look for ways to empower founders to challenge convention and thrive for real impact. After a year of building out our presence in Qatar, we’re proud to be reaching the culmination of these efforts at our Demo Day on May 2nd, 2019. We’re incredibly excited to end the year on a high note and to maintain this momentum into 2020,” said Koen Bosma, Managing Director at Qatar SportsTech.

This year, the startups will be presenting solutions for technology areas that are at the forefront for sports leaders in Qatar, including Sports IoT, wearables and equipment, Fan engagement and experience, Sports Medical, Esports, Sports Culture, Sports Tourism, Team performance and analytics, Venue optimisation and management.
